Ben
Ben’s RPG journey started with Baldur’s Gate Dark Alliance back on the PS2. He loved the concept of being able to play as another character and grab loot and level up. Several years later, in 2015 he was invited to play in a one-shot with some of his roommates, in beautiful Flagstaff, AZ. Being able to play in person was unlike anything he had ever experienced before.
He was sent on a mission to save a group of people who were being attacked by wildlife. During the journey, the party was attacked by several artic wolves. He was able to slay two of the wolves, however, a friend of his was still being attacked. Unfamiliar with the gaming mechanics, he threw his sword directly at the attacking wolf. It was a critical hit, and though it didn’t defeat the wolf, his sword pinned the monster to the ground, saving the life of his party member. It was exhilarating, unknown and a great experience.
Unfortunately, not long after he moved to the Phoenix, area and didn’t know anyone to play with. It wasn’t until 2018 that he was able to play again. A small group had invited him to play, and this led to a 2-year campaign. It was during this campaign that he decided to create a Facebook page and group. The rest is history.
Robb
Robb was a relatively late bloomer in tabletop RPGs. In 2015 he was invited to a “Shadowrun” game by a coworker, and the love of the game exploded from there. Robb joined the DnD Memes Facebook group around June of 2023, and a few months later was invited to be a moderator. He is now spearheading media creation for Tavern, with daily videos including informative short videos as well real play episodes, taking place in the custom setting of Petrolith. He enjoys playing characters with chaotic good alignments and short attention spans, because roleplaying is easier when you can just be yourself.
Amelia
Amelia’s journey into the role-playing game universe started with a bad ass Magic the Gathering Goblin deck she was gifted by a friend. That deck saw many an all-nighter with a wonderful group of friends at a local Denny’s. Then, after a several years long dry spell, Amelia’s interest in TTRPG’s was rekindled by a dear friend and master mind Dungeon Master, Foxx. In D&D, she found an escape from the 2020 quarantine in the form of a new game that was unlike anything she’d ever experienced. Amelia was hooked. She has been a part of the Tavern Family since the beginning and has been one of the driving forces behind its team and marketing development. She is also an editor, and full-time mom.
Jason
Jason started playing tabletop RPGs in a time where you hid that sort of thing, and will continue long after good taste says he should just stop. He started as a moderator and later admin for the DnD Memes Facebook group and now does whatever the situation calls for. In addition to his tabletop adventures, he is also a publisher and frequent convention panelist, primarily in the horror genre. He does not smile in photos or wash windows.
Brian
Brian has been a TTRPG and card game enthusiast for over three decades, and avid fan of “Magic: The Gathering” and D&D since 1993. He’s a DM, Hacker, and Coder. A jack of all trades, teacher, and polyglot. Brian Joined the party at Tavern in Fall of 2023, as a moderator of the Facebook Group (dndmemesandsuch), often playing the role of Ban Hammer for those that require it, as well as acting as Web Master for Tavern. He plays a Druid who multi-classed into a Rouge at the game table and in real life. His characters are often Chaotic good, and often have schemes within schemes.
